Kids Group Guitar
Age 4 to 1st Grade
EzraGuitar is a guitar program designed to give kids the opportunity to study with some of the greatest classical guitarists of this generation while using a method of learning designed especially for them. Our group classes are the core of the EzraGuitar method.
These classes are built on the philosophy of Maoz Ezra, that music should be taught in the “language of children” and tailored to their natural abilities. By studying with this method and philosophy, it is our goal that children will connect to music making in a natural and organic way. Through creative games and ensemble work, children will leave each lesson with a sense of accomplishment and musical knowledge that will remain with them as a foundation for any future musical endeavors. We teach small group lessons for children in grades Pre-K-1st grade (kids are grouped according to age & level, the course is cumulative.) Melody & Rhythm: through a mix of repertoire including, classical, folk, children’s songs, rock, jazz, contemporary and original compositions, students will learn to play music, not only exercises. Reading music: Through our unique method children will learn to recognize, know and master the notes in a range of four octaves. Ensemble Work: From the beginning children will be learning to play in an ensemble. This group work puts emphasis on listening with sensitivity and working together. Performance: At least twice a year students will perform in a concert. Performance is a major part of studying music, it teaches the student about building self confidence and the joy of sharing music.

Private Guitar Lessons
From 2nd grade to Adults
Students will study proper technique, challenging and diverse repertoire, about musical interpretation, harmony, sight reading and more; all the skills needed to become an informed and well rounded musician. Private lessons allow the teacher to dive further into the details and intricacies of the music and the instrument. Students will also perform 2 times each year in our Student Recitals.
Scheduling is based on Student and Teacher availability-let us know all of the days and times you are available on the registration form so that we can find you the best spot for your schedule.

Art Classes at EzraGuitar
This course is designed to give students the opportunity to jump with both feet into the world of art! Our curriculum will be guided by the infinite number of artists and artistic styles and cultures from around the world; giving students the opportunity to work with a huge variety of materials and learn about their various applications and possibilities. The concept behind this style of teaching is to also empower students through art; giving them the space to explore their own creativity and find their own unique and beautiful voice through artist expression.

2023-24 curriculum will include:
Part I: Creativity Meets Sustainability: Students will discover how to repurpose everyday items into works of art-inspired by Brazilain artist Vik Muniz and the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay
Part II: Fiber Arts & Masks: Students will dive into the world of textile fabrication and masks-drawing inspiration from the Peking opera to the ritual masks of Africa.
Part III: The Unity of Contrast: Students will learn about the power of contrast in relation to light, to subject, to materials and more and how that contrast creates strength, character and dimension in art-inspired by the works of Tzadok Ben David, Matisse and more.
